Under Water Kiss

I wrote this last year in my Creative Writing class.

I was being pulled under the water
Oblivious to secret intentions
His powerful hands reached out and found my face
Our breathless lips touching in a watery embrace.

Oblivious to secret intentions
My mind was drowning in a fog of wonder.
Our breathless lips touching in a watery embrace
Electric and surreal, our very first kiss.

My mind was drowning in a fog of wonder.
Was it the water or the feel of our lips touching?
Electric and surreal, our very first kiss,
Sustaining each other in our airless world.

Was it the water or the feel of our lips touching
That I wanted to resurface and gasp in surprise?
Yet we were sustaining each other in our airless world.
My thoughts were fading as we continued to kiss.

I wanted to resurface and gasp in surprise
For I was being pulled under the water
My thoughts were fading as we continued to kiss.
His powerful hands reaching out, finding my face.
